The Portuguese Maria de Lima is part of the group of 14 players chosen from 600 who auditioned for “Throats”, still part of the seven players to join the cast of this piece, signed by the controversial playwright and director Gerald Thomas.
“Throats” premiere on 18th February at the Pleasance Theater in London, and will be on stage until 28 March.
According to the Brazilian newspaper “Globe” and the “Folha de S. Paulo”, “the choice of actors was labor intensive. Thomas heard about 600 people. He was with a group of 40 for a week of intense workouts. Made repeated dozens of times quoting from a document that mixed Kurt Cobain, Calderón de La Barcia, Franz Kafka, Mick Jagger and Pilate. “
